ABSTRACT

So far in this monograph, we have surveyed some developments in the field of the optimum experimental design for DPSs related to sensor location and motivated by practical applications. Clearly, these considerations by no means cover all aspects of the reality and many difficult problems still remain open, challenging researchers concerned with spatial measurements. In this chapter, we investigate two possibilities of extending or applying the foregoing results to other settings, which are expected to become fields of laborious research in the near future. Specifically, spatial correlations are considered in Section 7.1. In turn, Section 7.2 deals with the application of our approach originating in the statistical literature to the output selection in control system design.
