China and Russia

In a long series of conquests, from 1580 to 1900, Russia and China took over all of northern Asia. Between them, they subdued the Mongolians and all the Turkiclanguage peoples, from the Azerbaijanis of the Caucasus to the Yakuts of eastern Siberia, and including the Kazakhs, Tatars, Uighurs and Uzbeks.
