ABSTRACT
The other epistemic strategy, which, if sound, would solve my problem about observation statements, is a "coherence" theory of epistemic justification. Such a theory has, in fact, been proposed by Laurence Bonjour as a means of solving a problem very similar to mine.17 I shall say just enough about Bonjour's theory to show its application to my problem and to indicate why I cannot accept it.
