ABSTRACT

Historical events are not seen in isolation. An event that takes place in one region of the world almost invariably transcends its physical dimensions and produces repercussions in other areas. One such important event was the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-5, which ushered in new forces in world history. India also could not have remained isolated from the main currents of world events, especially from developments on the Asian continent in which it had itself played a dominant role since the dawn of history.
