ABSTRACT
The most helpful theories spring from an examination of practice and experience. This chapter invites you to give full weight to your own experience – both personally and in the classroom – as a means of establishing just what matters about developing language and literacy. All the formats can be used as part of inservice work with colleagues and work best if they can be discussed with at least one other person.
