ABSTRACT

Distinct monoclonal phospho-specific tau antibodies R145D (K. Iqbal, 1 : 30, Ser-422) were used to detect phosphorylated tau epitopes as previously described.14 Immunocytochemistry was performed using a nickel-intensified diamino-benzidine (DAB) procedure slightly modified from that previously reported for freefloating sections.15 Brain tissue extraction was performed as previously described by Sahara and collaborators16 with minor modifications. Chemiluminescence kits (Pierce) were employed, followed by exposure of samples to Hyperfilm (Amersham Inc.). Immunoblots were analyzed using NIH Image software (v. 1.61).
