ABSTRACT

Over the past ten years or so, Switzerland has endeavoured in both its bilateral and multilateral development co-operation activities to take global changes and new requirements into account. Through the topics it deals with, development co-operation has gradually become an integral part of the political, economic and social relations with countries receiving official development assistance (ODA). Through a more global approach, yet one that remains centred on technical cooperation and humanitarian aid, development co-operation is now better integrated with Switzerland's foreign policy.
