ABSTRACT
We are living at the beginning of the twenty-first century. How do things stand now? In Britain and in the USA traditional ideas about intelligence and about the curriculum are still with us, although increasingly under challenge. Are there still any links with the puritan/dissenting thought-world? In politics, psychology and education, has the growing secularism of the last century eroded all traces of this heritage?
