ABSTRACT

Ovarian volume appears to be an even more quantitative measurement than stromal volume in the clinical practice setting49. Patients should not undergo u/s diagnostic information to confirm or exclude the u/s appearance of the polycystic ovary when an oral contraception or central access suppression has been initiated. The calculation of ovarian volume can be made from a simplified formula that multiplies together 0.5 times the length by the width by the thickness50. Ideally, ovarian measurements should be taken between cycle days 3 to 6. A progesterone withdrawal bleed should be considered in those patients without menses for three months before assessing both clinical and ultrasonographic information.
