Music is the connection: youth cultures in Colombia GERMÁN MUÑOZ AND M A RT H A MARÍN

This chapter addresses the relevance of music in Colombian youth cultures from an unusual perspective, taking the view that music is the key to the construction, weaving and constant transformation of global youth cultures such as skinhead, hip-hop, punk and hardcore. In particular, we will examine the musical dynamics that connect these global youth cultures to their local versions found in the Colombian setting.
