ABSTRACT
In Egypt, drinking and entertainment usually go hand in hand. There are not many public places solely for drinking. Bars in hotels are one of the few exceptions, but only foreigners and the upper class can afford to have a drink there. Drinking is done either in night-clubs or at home on festive occasions. At both places, there is a programme with singing, dancing, and music for the drinker as well.
