ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at some aspects of provision in France for children and young people with disabilities and difficulties in learning in the light of recent legislation. First, it briefly describes the historical background and recent legislation relating to special education. This is followed by a discussion of the range of structures which exist to serve different categories of disability. The final section focuses on some recent changes in primary education.
