CHRISTIANS IN PRE-T'ANG CHINA? It was in the beginning of. the glorious T'ang period (AD 618-907), open as it was to international trade, to diplomatic missions from abroad and to foreign ideas, that Nestorian Christianity made its official appearance on the scene in China. The first reliable news of a Christian presence comes from this time.
