ABSTRACT
T he Qur'an may be regarded as the most important literary document in the Arabic language. Its vocabulary and idiom have, moreover, permeated all Islamic languages, thus giving it a unique place in world literature. Through the words of the Qur'an, Muslims have expressed their joys and sorrows, and their deepest thoughts and emotions.
