ABSTRACT
Agriculture is the major economic activity in the governorate, and its agricultural productivity represent 11 per cent of that of the country. The few industrial activities found in al-Menia are mostly dependent on the different agricultural crops, especially cotton. Al-Menia governorate is distinguished by the presence of many Pharoanic, Roman, Coptic and Islamic antiquities and is therefore one of the areas which attracts tourists.3
