Wahba, who was writing in the thirties, has this to say about Budayyic: "Its population is eight thousand, mostly Dawāsir tribes. A dispute between them and the Government of Bahrain led to their departure from Bahrain to Dammām in late 1922. However, after two years' time, and in the wake of conciliatory steps taken by the Government of Bahrain, some of them came back."65
