ABSTRACT

If, however, one maintained that this created power in man has some effect on the act and calls it an 'acquisition', kasb, such a one cannot be called a Jabrite; though, according to the Mu'tazilites, those who do not hold that this created power has any independent influence in originating or causing acts are Jabrīya. In this case, however, these Mu'tazila would have to give the name Jabrite to other Mu'tazila who maintain that a generated act has no agent, because, according to them, the created power has no influence on such an act.
