Until1930,IndiawasBahrain'slargestexportingnationwhenthe volumeofmerchandiseimportedfromtherereached,in1929-30, 72.47%ofBahrain'stotalimports.IranandIraqcameafterIndiabut thepercentageofimportstoBahrainfromthesetwocountrieswas verysmallcomparedtoIndia's,BahrainimportingfromIraqinthe yearmentionedonly11.34%ofhertotalimports,whiletradewith Irancontinuedtoincreasebutremainedatamodestpercentage.77
