ThereisasimilarreferencebytheMaghribigeographerAlIdrisiinhisworkNuzhatAl-Mushtaqtotwoextremelydifficult mountainsthatarealsoreferredtolateronbytheMaghribi travellerIboBattuta.Al-Idrisidescribesthesemountainsasbeing underwater,andthesailorsavoidedthembytakingotherroutesin ordertoavoidwreckingtheirships.IboBattutareferstothemina differentcontext,asiftheywereondryland.JustasAl-Kurja'ihad previouslyreferredtothespringsofBahrain,theMaghribitraveller whoactuallyvisitedtheareadescribesitsgardens,trees,riversand plentifulwater.IboBattutaalsopresentsaninterestingdescriptionof pearl-divinginthearea,whichresemblesJoaoDeBarros'description ofdiversinsaltywaterswhosoughtsourcesforsweetwaterin Bahrain.
