Atthetownswherewehavetakenobservations,theSheikhs havetreateduswiththeutmostkindness,givingusaroomin theirhouse,withcarpetsandpillowstosleepon,andfoodhas beencookedforus.Neverhadanyobjectionsbeenmadeto oursurveyingoperations,buteveryfacilityafforded.Anatural curiosityhasbroughtahundredpeoplearoundtheinstruments,buttheynevercausetheleastannoyance;theyaretoo well-behavedforthat.27
