Wewerereassuredbythenon-arrivaloftheTurks.LuisFalcao informedmethatsixyearsagothekingofal-I.Iasa,ShaikhMana,had seizedthefortresscityofal-QatITfromthekingdomofHormuzand thatsincethattimethekingofHormuzandhisvizierhadbeen seekingthenecessaryaidtoretakethefortresscityfromformer captains.Thatwasaccordingtoourobligationsregardingallthe fortressessubjecttothekingofHormuz,notjustthisfortresswhich wecapturedforhiminourtimehere.However,theformercaptains usedtoconstantlymakeexcuses,claimingalackofsufficientsoldiers capableofgoingthere,apretextwhichwearenowunabletouse becauseofmypresenceherewithagroupofmenwhoarenolonger neededbecauseofthenon-arrivaloftheTurks.ThekingofHormuz andhisvizierundertooktobearthecostsofthecampaign,despite thefactthattheywerenotobligedto.Theironlyrequestwasthat thosePortuguesesoldierswhoareabletoshouldaccompanyme, andlikewisethenecessaryartilleryandgunpowder.
