BritishpresenceintheGulfarea,andattimesthisprovedtobevery difficultindeed.TheBritishsuspectedthatsomemembersofthe ArabianMissionwerepoliticallymotivatedandnotcompletely devotedtotheirassignedtask.Thisdistrustgrewstrongerwhenever themedicaldoctorssoughtpermissiontocrosstheGulffrom BahrainintothemainlandofArabiainNejdandtheTrucialCoast.
