So,Bahrainsupportedthepowerofthestatethatexisted duringthisepoch,theAgeoftheRighteousCaliphs.Itwanted stabilityandco-operatedwiththerulersinfightingtheopposition. Thustheareacametobequiteclearlymarkedasfollowingoneside andnottheother.Itcametobeknownthatthesympathiesofthe citizensofBahrainwereexclusivelywiththefourthCaliphandthat manyofthemwereinasectthatorbitedaroundhim,alsothatthey wereaffectedbymattersrelatingtohispositionasmastertohis companionsandaleaderwhoshouldbeinhisrightfulposition.This wastheideaofthemajorityofthecitizensofBahrain,andgrewand circulated.Itwasthisthatcausedtherulerswhocameintopower aftertheRighteousCaliphstohavetheirdoubtsaboutthearea.And itmadethosewhoopposedtheCaliphscombatthemwithviolence afterhisdeathandtheyweresuspectedofbeingakindofopposing frontwhichwastobeavoidedandnevertrusted.57
