ABSTRACT

In the absence of role definition or even of the recognition of the existence of a team the ground is open for people to develop their own ideas about what ought to be done in these shared classrooms. But while the team is not recognised as a team, tllese ideas develop in isolation; there is no structure for enabling communication between team members. Without this recognition and without this structure there is ample opportunity for misunderstandings to arise among team members. In such an atmosphere the team will not work as effectively as it might.
