ABSTRACT
The Kingdom’s oil wealth and its own ambitious development programs have received wide international publicity. Perhaps less widely recognized is its commitment to helping those materially less fortunate in the developing world. It is an obligation on all Muslims to ensure that the blessings of wealth are used to help those less well-endowed. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a Muslim state and the obligations that fall upon individual Muslims have been willingly accepted by the government of the Kingdom.
