ABSTRACT
THE earliest tombs of the Nubian line that became the Egyptian Twenty-fifth Dynasty appear to have been simple tumuli; although these sepulchres are of an un-Egyptian form, items of funerary equipment clearly showed Egyptian influence or manufacture. However, it is unclear whether any of the interments had been mummified; certainly, no canopic equipment was recovered from the tombs.'
