ABSTRACT
Depending upon the movements of water particles, the flow may be either laminar or turbulent. Within a laminar flow the water movement is regular and horizontal, that is, the separate layers flow on top of each other without extensive mixing. The mixing that does occur is on the molecular level. Laminar flow, however, is a rare phenomenon in nature.
