ABSTRACT
The study will incorporate a discussion on phonetic correspondences with Maltese (Mal) and a few Magribl dialects. It will also occasionally include phonological correspondences with the Medieval Arabic dialects of Spain coined as the Andalusi Arabic (AA). This generic term is extended to include Arabic loan words, place names and names in the Spanish language; albeit not correct, it describes historically a continuity or extension of the lexemes in usage from the times of the Muslim rule in Spain (138-897/756-1492). The researcher is referred to Steiger (1991 [1932]) and Corriente (1977, 1992) on matters
of time and place in which the Andalusi Arabic lexemes are used.
