ABSTRACT
In Chapter 4 the broader political dynamics of wildlife resource use were outlined. In that chapter it was shown how global (e.g. CITES debates), national (policy towards natural resources), district and local claims as to how the resource should be used interact with each other. In this chapter we elaborate on the various vested interests, jurisdictions and rights in the resource, as they are manifested at the ward level.
