ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 examined the hydrological cycle in some detail to show how each part of it functions. This chapter brings the parts together and examines how they interact in real situations. Several small catchments are examined to illustrate the range of precipitationstreamflow patterns possible, and towards the end an attempt is made to inquire into how larger catchments represent the combined responses of many smaller ones.
