ABSTRACT

Cha-seki, place for cha-no-yu, built like a small country house, is generally located in a secluded spot in the garden. Some have more than one built in different styles in different parts of the garden. Attached to each there should be a resting place connected with stepping-stones, generally within an enclosure, to convey the feeling of detachment from everyday life. All these structures, in whatever form or style, must conform to the surrounding and be a part of Nature.
