ABSTRACT

When that hour struck there were officers and men on out stations all over the world wondering whether they would have full opportunity to serve their country to the best of their abilities. Now that it is all happily ended I do not think that anyone (however bemused or bemedalled) would wish to go through those four years again. Of my personal experiences I consider that only the humorous ones, and those that indicate Arab life and character, are worthy of record.
