ABSTRACT
The chief music of the Kabuki dance is that of the sam'lsen. And as there are various forms of the Kabuki dance there are also varIeties in the samisen music. These cannot be disposed of in a few general words, but merit rather close consideration. The relation between these two, the Kabuki and the samisen music, from the beginning of their association, may be briefly stated as follows.
