Appendix VII. Chief Towns and Cities

In 1936 there were in Indo-China thirteen towns with a population of 20,000 and over, and eight towns with a population ranging from 10,000 to 20,000. Excluding the seaports, which are described elsewhere (see chapter XVII passim), fourteen inland towns are dealt with in the following account (Fig. 143).
