ABSTRACT
A RACE has been defined as a group of people who possess the majority of their physical characteristics in common and transmit them to their offspring. In this sense there is no pure race in Palestine, though religious communities which habitually intermarry tend to exhibit hereditary and racial uniformities, and their community of culture tends to unite them in a nationality-a term sometimes confused with race, though distinct from it.
