ABSTRACT
I N 1817, when Belzoni had finished his investigations inthe Royal Valley, he wrote: "It is my firm opinion thatin the valley of Biban-el /}laluk there are no more tombs that are not known, in consequence of my late discoveries. For previous to quitting that place, I exerted all my humble abilities in endeavouring to find another tomb, but could not succeed."
