ABSTRACT
Because of war conditions (1939–45) it became necessary to give up glycerites of starch for use in toothpastes. These well-known vehicles took up large quantities of calcium carbonate in an able manner. Calcium carbonate is the abrasive generally used for the cleaning of teeth.
