ABSTRACT
Nail polishes are in very great demand. They can be simply prepared by dissolving cinema film stripped of its gelatine by a wash in boiling water acidified with hydrochloric acid. A mixture of acetone and amyl acetate is most often used as the solvent. The polish obtained from film celluloid is flexible because the film was plasticised with camphor.
