ABSTRACT

The heroic exploits of pilots, zooming off on secret missions and engaging enemy aircraft in ear-shattering dogfights, have always fascinated kids. The thrills of flying were incorporated into virtually all serials whose setting did not predate the invention of the airplane. Many sound chapterplays, in fact, were devoted primarily to the courageous pilots whose planes roared through the skies with double or single wings so that villains might be thwarted and justice restored to the land.
