ABSTRACT

Over the past few years family issues such as birth-control methods and the role of women in family life and in society were given special attention among demographers and public administrators. These problems were also discussed by members of political parties, movements, unions, and various sections of society. One of their goals was to set up the main directions for family policy (FP). This chapter reviews the FP carried out in Lithuania, establishes the directions of its development, and analyzes public opinion on the methods for supporting families with children.
