ABSTRACT
Let us look at the sector where the Soviets expected the heaviest armored combat to occur. Indeed, it did turn out to be most intensive in the south where they expected it. But it was also intense where they did not expect it, in the Western Front sector. We will consider the Western Front first, and then the Southwestern Front.
