ABSTRACT
The European Union came into being on 1 November 1993. It was the product of more than 40 years of institutional development towards the political and economic integration of the countries of western Europe. That development has had profound implications for the national institutions of the Member States. This volume is devoted to studying how one institution has adapted to the moves towards European integration. That institution is the national Parliament.
