ABSTRACT
In examining the causes and manifestations of the economic crisis in the West Bank: and the Gaza Strip. including relevant demographic developments. it is important to emphasize that there is no a priori relationship between this crisis and the outbreak of the Intifada. However. the extent to which the ongoing economic crisis contributed to the outbreak and continuation of the Intifada must be assessed.
