ABSTRACT
During the early hours of 21 April, a small nucleus of personnel from Zossen reported in by telephone from Wannsee in southwest Berlin and were directed to establish temporary headquarters for the OKH at the Luftwaffe Academy at Gatow and for the OKW at the barracks in Krampnitz nearby. The main body headed south for Obersalzburg and later in the day had the misfortune to be attacked by some of their own aircraft, who mistook the convoy for a column of Soviet tanks.1
