ABSTRACT
On 7 June 2001 there were elections in 45 local authorities across shire England (there were none in Scotland or Wales) covering all 34 county councils and 11 unitary authorities. In the counties and, following boundary changes, the Isle of Wight and Southend on Sea councils all seats were at stake.
