ABSTRACT

Learning is an interpretation through interaction with the world. It is collaborative and negotiated from multiple perspectives. Through an active process of meaning making based on experience situated in realistic settings, knowledge, skills and attitudes are fostered. Situating learning within a meaningful, real-world setting, enhances the development of understanding and the transference of knowledge and skills (Collins, 1989; Wilson, 1995; Gagnon and Collay, 1997; Fosnot 1996). Experience is the best teacher.
