ABSTRACT
As the World Wide Web extends learning beyond the classroom to learning communities, so must roles and concepts of learning and teaching be reconsidered. Web-based instruction involves creating an environment where learners are supported in developing independent learning skills. The Web provides many opportunities and advantages to teachers and learners in terms of its capacity to:
• provide access to information; • support collaborative learning; • enable communication between learners.
