ABSTRACT

As indicated in the Introduction, this section does not aim to provide exhaustive references to archive collections of women’s writing. Instead, it provides detailed accounts of two major collections: the Imperial War Museum in London, and the Liddle Collection in Leeds. There are also brief references to other libraries which the researcher may find useful. For further First World War manuscript material the reader might consult Mayer and Koenig The Two World Wars. A Guide to Manuscript Collections in the United Kingdom. The Libraries Directory contains further information on a much larger scale (see I24 and I19, for full references).
