" One of the paradoxes of parenting is that more resources and advantages made available to your child are not necessarily better. It can be difficult for rich parents to be effective parents, and the wealthier, the more difficult being effective can be. However, despite the amount of resources the parents have at their disposal to provide their children, if restraint is exercised parental-child gluttony pitfall can be avoided. Like the child at the edge of the ski lift who lacked appreciation for his expensive garb, many children will take and take-just because items and opportunities are made available . Then they often begin to develop a take-for-granted mentality that says the world owes them all the things that they convince themselves they can't go without.
