• When my two children were about nine and ten, they, my wife, and I toured the western part of the United States in an old 1 972 Chevy van. Although in many ways we had the time of our lives, the long driving distances exacted a toll upon our patience and tolerance of one another's frustrating antics. To more quickly pass the driving time between distant cities we would play games such as "My father owns a grocery store, " etc. My favorite was, "What would you do if Daddy dropped you off here?"
